Commissioner Andy Pallito recognized the first responders, from the Southern State Correctional Facility, whose quick actions were responsible for saving an inmate’s life at their facility.
If not for the instincts and quick actions of these correctional officers, a life would have been lost. All reacted with courage and professionalism from the officer that had just started working at the facility after his graduation from the Academy to the senior officer and supervisor that have over ten years of service on the job.
Commissioner Pallito said that they do not receive enough thanks or recognition for the work they do, but he is thankful for their work everyday.
The following is a list of staff members that are being recognized for their contributions that helped to save a life at the Southern State Correctional Facility:
- CO I’s Jacob Maki, Stanley Piskorski, David Loomis and Randall Chaleff,
- CO II’s Anthony Giordano and Stephen Riendeau,
- CFSS Michael Arace,
- SOS Joshua Rutherford
- and Superintendent M. Peter Potanas.
